As soon as the first rays of March sunshine appeared, a fresh breeze of renewal swept through the pre-school children of LFiSV. Guided by their class teachers and Ms. Göbel, the German teacher, the children enthusiastically embarked on a rich and colourful spring project.
It all began with small group sessions, where pupils explored spring-related vocabulary in German — flowers, grass, butterflies, sun, colours… With these words, they brought “Madame Spring” to life, a joyful, flower-filled figure they decorated with care and creativity.
In class, the project took many forms, encouraging a wide range of early learning skills. The children explored the living world by planting beans, observing their growth, and learning the stages of germination. With the story Jack and the Beanstalk, they combined science and imagination, enriching their language, comprehension, and their ability to observe and describe.
Art activities were also in full bloom! Cutting, pasting, painting, composing — the pupils created flower-filled landscapes, grassy-haired portraits, 3D bunnies, and cardboard piglets inspired by “The Three Little Pigs”. These workshops helped them develop fine motor skills, spatial awareness, and creative expression.
In GS B, pupils explored the theme of baby animals. Rabbits filled the walls — each child crafted their own using recycled materials, learning about shapes, symmetry, and face composition while discussing life cycles and the living world.
This joyful and multidisciplinary project gave every child a chance to awaken their senses, express themselves through art, and explore the world while building new knowledge in a collaborative and caring environment.
