Düsseldorf Helau! The “Cinquième Saison” celebrated by the Lycée français international Simone Veil

Helau Düsseldorf! The "Cinquième Saison" celebrated by the Lycée français international Simone Veil

While the students were just starting their vacations, some of them were preparing for one of Düsseldorf’s biggest events: Carnival, whose reputation extends far beyond the city’s borders!

Organized by a few committee members and other dedicated parents, over 25 families gathered on Saturday February 18 to take part in Düsseldorf’s “Kinder- und Jugendumzug” children’s and young people’s parade.
Waving a huge French national flag followed by smaller flags, it was easy to recognize the large LfiSV group in the Kö.
Dressed in ponchos in the colors of France, and wearing a crown on their heads in the same colors, the participants carefully decorated their costumes with French symbols or hearts.
It was also a pleasant surprise to see a French rooster throwing confetti into the air, and the children running around to catch the colorful pieces of paper.

In a wonderful atmosphere, children and parents threw sweets into the street, as tradition dictates, and sang and performed the now-famous “Feel the magic in the air” flashmob, which was performed by all the students on the school’s 60th anniversary.

We thank them all for representing our school so brilliantly, and look forward to next year’s carnival, when both primary and secondary school pupils will once again have the chance to parade through the colorful crowds and shout out the famous Helau Dusseldorf!

We would also like to thank Era Immobilien, Dr. med.
