Remember September 3, back-to-school day?
The sky was filled with white clouds, students were excited to see old friends and discover new ones, while they said goodbye to carefree days as school began again….
Since then, 100 days have passed!
Have you felt the time fly by?
In any case, for the children in Grande Section, this period has been full of important activities to prepare them for their future year, when they leave kindergarten to enter CP.
Little by little, they have learned to construct the numerical sequence and to write large numbers, to make collections of 10 and to discover the great number that is 100!
Last Friday, they proudly organized an exhibition that has become a tradition: the 100-day exhibition!
In the motor room, they carefully arranged all their precious work, different collections containing 100 pieces.
The CPBs also contributed to a moving project entitled 100% tendresse chez les CPB (50 tender messages and 50 little hearts).
The book was filled with drawings, messages of love and, of course, hearts.
Once again, the CPBs drew pictures and shared their thoughts on what they’ll look like when they’re 100.
First thing in the morning, parents were warmly welcomed to view their children’s work and discover, with them, each piece of the exhibition.
After the last parent had left the room, one by one, the other classes arrived to take their turn at visiting the exhibition.
For the older children, the younger ones had prepared a little “seek and find” game, which the pupils were delighted to discover.
They also had fun counting the objects in each collection, and all in all, it was a good opportunity for them to brush up on a few mathematical concepts.
The children in the middle and lower sections were there in force.
The teachers went through each collection, explaining and asking questions….
While the petite section had the chance to discover many things about the number 100, the moyenne section children made an excellent impression: we can say that they are ready (or almost ready) to take on the challenges of the grande section.
Friday ended on a high note, with the kindergarten children proud to show how their projects can be a source of learning for all!
We’d like to thank all the teachers and their assistants, the children and the parents for taking part in the project and for being there to share these moments with us all!
