Building great personalities through sport

Learn to master difficult situations, make quick decisions and solve problems.

At LfiSV, sport is much more than the end result. By practicing it, you can learn the art of living, managing situations and taking initiative. Sport is essential to the development of growing children.

Children who take part in physical activities foster good values of mutual respect and cooperation. Playing a sport teaches them skills such as responsibility, leadership and learning to work with a sense of responsibility and confidence. At every level of schooling, the aim is to ensure the success of all students.

A coherent, diversified and balanced training program is offered to students, ensuring that they have sufficient learning time to acquire the skills set out in the curriculum.

The values of sport

Sharing, responsibility, effort and success are all values conveyed in physical and sports education classes from kindergarten through to the final year of secondary school, as well as during training sessions and sporting events organized within the school. AEFE’s values are fully expressed in the sports activities organized at our school.
In this way, the AEFE’s sports policy resonates with the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect, to which we can add outreach.

Excellence

EPS is ambitious for all students, with everyone encouraged to give their best, whatever their physical resources, within a framework of positive emulation.

Respect and friendship

Respect means respecting oneself, one’s body, others, common rules and the environment. The development of friendship through sport, solidarity, team spirit, joy and optimism should help build a better, more peaceful world.

Radiation

The AEFE/UNSS sports leagues, ambassadors for French know-how in defining and organizing major international sporting events, help to spread these positive values.

EPS a discipline in its own right

All students are considered capable of taking part in school physical, sporting and artistic activities. Activities are compulsory for all, but are also adapted to the different abilities of each student, enabling them to progress at their own pace, according to their level and resources. Girls and boys practice together and share the activity with those who have certain inabilities or disabilities. It is taught from kindergarten through to the final year of secondary school, with its own compulsory timetable, programs and baccalaureate exams.

Sports Week

Every year, LfiSV organizes a “sports week” to promote sporting activities and introduce new ones to all students, whether in primary, secondary or high school.

Sports competitions

Motivated students with the required level will be invited throughout the year to take part in inter-school competitions. Participation in competitions is free of charge and transport is provided by the school.

A dozen sporting competitions will be offered throughout the year: Tennis, Athletics, Football, Badminton, Swimming, Table Tennis and Basketball.
In response to invitations from the AEFE network or German schools, we may need to hire teams or players to take part in proposed projects.
This is how we were able to take part in the last three editions of the European PES Games (Stockholm 2015, Barcelona 2017, Moscow 2019), the RIZ in Zurich in 2018 or the Rugby World Cup in London (2015).
We were proud to organize the European PES Games 2022.

The sports association

As part of the sports association, comprehensive educational sports programs are offered in partnership with the French national education school sports federation (UNSS). From a simple meeting to a championship taking the student to the highest level of practice (world school championship), every child can live his or her passion for sport.
The association is open to motivated student volunteers. It is organized both during and outside school hours. Students may (with the agreement of their families) be excused from certain classes in order to take part in competitions or events.

Extracurricular sports

LfiSV offers everyone the chance to practice several sports as part of extracurricular activities (for elementary school only).

APS are organized from 2:30 pm to 4 pm.
