This year, CM1 pupils took part in the 13ᵉ edition of ‘Petits champions de la lecture’, a literary adventure that celebrates the pleasure of reading and the art of oral expression.
Aimed at CM1 and CM2 pupils, this game offers a collective experience that encourages them to speak in public, develop their independence and reinforce their enjoyment of reading. By working on their reading, they improve their understanding of the text, their command of the language and their concentration, whilst discovering and sharing the wealth of children’s literature with their peers.
A school final full of intensity and great reading
On 24 January, eight CM1 pupils rose to the challenge, delivering inspiring and captivating readings. With as much talent as passion, each of them brought his or her extract to life and captivated the audience. The atmosphere was one of anticipation and concentration as our young readers took their turn in front of an attentive audience and a select panel of judges, including the school’s headmaster, Mr Dillenschneider, and the headmistress of the primary school, Ms Chardon.
Clarice and Leo, the two big winners of this final, were warmly applauded, while all the participants were rewarded with diplomas and heartfelt congratulations for their commitment and performance.

A brilliant turnout at the Central and Eastern Europe Zone final
On 12 March, the city of Warsaw (Poland) hosted the grand final of the Central and Eastern European Zone (ZECO) of the Little Champions of Reading. Our two young talents, Clarice Boussion and Leo Coiffier, proudly represented our school against 25 candidates from several countries. They distinguished themselves by their ease and unfailing commitment, captivating the audience and the jury with the quality and intensity of their performances.
We are particularly proud to announce that Leo Coiffier was selected as one of the four finalists who will go on to compete in the European final. At this stage, eight sectors from around the world will be competing for a place in the world final in Paris in May.
A huge well done to Clarice and a special congratulations to Leo, who is continuing his journey. The adventure continues… and we can’t wait to see Leo in the final stage and the continuation of this wonderful literary story!
