The CDI has once again proved that it’s ‘the place to be’!
After a successful first edition on 23 January 2025, the Café littéraire des lycéens, organised by Ms Germa and Ms Guégan, was once again attended by keen and curious readers on 13 March. Around ten students and several teachers got together to talk about books, exchange ideas and debate!
Maël opened the session with a communist kangaroo taken straight out of Marc-Uwe Kling’s satirical chronicles. Looks promising! (Marc-Uwe Kling, Die Kängura Chroniken). Solenn defended the deeply moving novel A Little Life. Sophie took us through the streets of New York with Holden, the lost hero of The Catcher in the Rye.
Teachers were not to be missed: family stories with Leïla Slimani, thrills with Poe and Lovecraft, wartime accounts or delving into the traditions of Eastern Europe with Isaac Bashevis (who won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1978)… everyone had something to learn!
Some of the books are available in the CDI, while others can be borrowed from students or teachers: so ask and dare to share!
