Abibac Trip to Xanten

Abibac Trip to Xanten

Wednesday, October 1

In high spirits, the 33 Abibac students from Seconde, Première, and Terminale boarded the bus on Wednesday morning.

An hour later, we arrived and settled into the youth hostel.

We then worked in groups on ideas to promote the Abibac section, such as designing our own Abibac logo (hoodies are on the way!).

After a picnic by Lake Xanten, we took part in a city rally, exploring many beautiful places. Those who finished early enjoyed some free time in town.

We walked back to the youth hostel—three kilometers rewarded by a delicious barbecue dinner, which we prepared ourselves. It was a great and friendly evening!

At 10 p.m., it was lights out — and, of course, everyone fell asleep right away!

Thursday, October 2

After a hearty breakfast, everyone was ready for the walk back to the city center, where we visited the Stiftsmuseum.

We learned a lot about Saint Victor’s treasure and the history of the cathedral. Afterwards, we visited the cathedral itself and the crypt — it was truly impressive!

Lunch was simple but delicious: kebabs and pizzas.

To end the trip, we enjoyed the last rays of sunshine back at the hostel and continued our Abibac promotion workshops.

We’re already looking forward to next year’s Abibac trip!
