The Music Festival at LfiSV – A Creative Tribute to Rameau

In June 2025, once again LfiSV celebrated the Music Festival with enthusiasm, creativity, and a powerful spirit of togetherness. Thoughtfully prepared by our dedicated staff and talented pupils, the event brought the school community together around music and the performing arts.

This year stood out thanks to an inspiring interdisciplinary project led by our 6th-grade classes, centered on Les Indes galantes, the opéra-ballet by Jean‑Philippe Rameau. In French class, students explored Rameau’s baroque world: exotic characters, the role of nature in the narrative, and how music can convey emotion. During music lessons, they learned “Forêt paisible,” a duet that evokes harmony far from conflict. In their physical education sessions, rhythmic imagery inspired them to create expressive choreography—structured yet free. In art class, they brought their characters to life with hand-crafted creations: natural-toned t-shirts, felted wool masks, and botanical accessories—all designed in a spirit of collective creativity.

The performance opened with the students’ integrated dance-and-song act, weaving emotion, rhythm, and invention into a compelling interpretation of Rameau. The secondary school choir then took over, followed by solo performances on piano and clarinet—beautiful moments showcasing our young artists’ sensitivity and skill. To close the evening, the staff choir delivered a heartfelt rendition that was warmly applauded.

More than a musical event, this festival reaffirmed music’s role as a powerful medium for creativity, sharing, and collaboration. A heartfelt congratulations to everyone who participated in the 2025 Music Festival—see you next year!
