LfiSV on the local cultural stage

Last Friday, the Thursday hip-hop group had the honor of participating in the Kulturforum Oberbilk, an open stage dedicated to children’s and youth culture, organized by Akki – Aktion & Kultur mit Kindern e.V.

Alongside other schools in Düsseldorf, including GGS Schloss Benrath, Theodor-Andresen-Schule, Wim Wenders Gymnasium, Realschule Benrath, Comenius-Gymnasium, and Gesamtschule Stettiner Straße, our students had the opportunity to share the stage with young performers from across the city, in a spirit of exchange and discovery.

For more than ten minutes, our group delivered two energetic performances: first, a lively hip-hop dance mix, followed by an expressive choreography to Roméo kiffe Juliette” by Grand Corps Malade, which captivated the audience.

Warmly applauded, the students then answered questions from the audience — not only about their dance, but also about their school, the languages they learn, and their educational journey.

Participating in local cultural events is an integral part of our school’s educational mission. These experiences allow students to give meaning to their learning and engage with real-life situations within their community.

Beyond the artistic performance, this experience represents a valuable educational opportunity: learning to manage stage fright and pressure, building self-confidence in front of an audience, strengthening teamwork, and opening up to other young people and cultures.

After the chess tournament, dance performances, and now this participation in the Kulturforum, one thing is clear: our extracurricular activities are also spaces for engagement, connection, and personal growth.

Congratulations to our dancers for their energy, courage, and professionalism on stage — and sincere thanks to the city’s cultural partners who make these enriching experiences possible for our students.
