Design Thinking and recycling: 4ème pupils give objects a second life

As part of a technology lesson with Mrs Maria Abi Chebli, pupils in 4ème were invited to give a new lease of life to used objects or technical systems, as part of a sustainable development approach.

As part of their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) education and applying Design Thinking, the pupils identified used objects, analysed them and, using a creative approach, came up with solutions to improve or reuse them. They were also able to repair a few objects. This activity enabled the pupils to raise awareness of the importance of recycling, waste reduction and responsible innovation, while reinforcing their problem-solving and collaborative work skills.
