Friday March 22 saw the second edition of the International Breakfast!
To round off Modern Languages Week 2024, parents of LfiSV allophone students were invited to the school canteen to share traditional dishes from around the world.
They were asked to prepare dishes typical of their countries of origin: Böreks and Zeytinyagli Sarma from Turkey, Brötchen, Butterkuchen, Brezel and Kalte Schnauze from Germany, Mboukhoukhou from Mauritania, Kothuparotta-Chicken from India, Bsissa from Tunisia, Mamoushe, Pizza au thon, and Tabbouleh from Lebanon, Tortilla de Patatas from Spain, Fèves from Egypt, Pancakes from the USA, Pao de Quejo from Brazil, Gateau “Medovik” from Russia, Scones from the UK, and many more!
Young and old at the table, parents happy to speak their mother tongue with other families, children discovering new flavors and hearing so many different languages!
These are precious moments of learning that make our students a little more world citizens every time.
The
FLSco
(Français Langue de Scolarisation – French as the language of schooling) focuses on the language learned and used at school.
Learning goes beyond the linguistic aspect of the language, by also focusing on the cultural norms of the school which, precisely, enable academic success.
Each year, this section welcomes around 60 students, from kindergarten to high school.
