“Elles bougent pour l’orientation” – inspiring girls toward scientific and technical careers

On Monday, 1 December 2025, and with the support of the association Elles bougent, our school held its first “Elles bougent pour l’orientation” day, designed to encourage girls from 4ème to Terminale to explore scientific, technical and engineering pathways.

The aim of the event was to raise awareness of scientific and technological careers through the testimonies of women working or studying in STEM fields; to showcase the diversity of professions and academic pathways; to spark new vocations in industries that drive innovation; and to instil ambition and confidence in the educational and professional journeys of our students.

The LfiSV had the pleasure of welcoming professionals from Bayer, Air Liquide, ROHM Semiconductor, KIA and EASA, as well as three alumnae currently pursuing advanced studies: a PhD in Biology and Immunology (Heidelberg) and Bachelor programmes in Physics and Biochemistry (University of Zurich).

During round-table discussions, students were able to ask questions about studies and career paths, learn about the challenges faced by women in STEM, discuss work–life balance, and reflect on the role and representation of women in professions where they remain underrepresented.

It was the first edition of this event, which is shifting the focus toward greater openness and equality. A huge thank you to our speakers and alumni for their time and commitment!
