When students’ art enters the museum

When students' art enters the museum

This year, two CE2 and one class (CM1/CM2) from the Lycée français international Simone Veil had the wonderful opportunity to take part in Die Kleine, the annual exhibition organised by the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf.

The theme of this year’s edition, “Kunstpalast Kunterbunt”, inspired the students to create colourful, imaginative and diverse works of art.

For many years, Die Kleine has celebrated the artistic creations of children from across the region. The exhibition offers young artists the unique opportunity to display their work in a prestigious museum alongside that of many other schools. This year, nearly 1,600 pupils from more than 60 classes took part, making Die Kleine one of the largest educational and cultural projects for primary schools in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area.

The students worked enthusiastically on their creations, giving free rein to their imagination. Their artwork was then displayed throughout the galleries of the Kunstpalast, where it could be admired by families, visitors and art enthusiasts alike.

The exhibition also attracted media attention. The regional broadcaster WDR featured Die Kleine in a television report, highlighting both the enthusiasm of the young artists and the importance of this initiative, which gives children the unique opportunity to exhibit their work in a real museum.

Beyond discovering the world of art, the project helps students develop their creativity, self-confidence and collaborative skills. Seeing their artwork exhibited in a renowned museum is a tremendous source of pride and a powerful encouragement to continue expressing their creativity.

We warmly congratulate all of our students on their dedication and creativity, and extend our sincere thanks to the teachers who supported them throughout this inspiring project.

Our heartfelt thanks also go to the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf for this wonderful initiative, which allows children to experience a museum in a truly unique way—as exhibiting artists themselves.
