data-end=\"872\">On Thursday, April 3rd, 2025, Grade 10 students at LfiSV took part in a virtual literary conference with the Swiss author <strong>Eug\u00e8ne<\/strong>, writer of <em data-start=\"606\" data-end=\"632\">\u201cLettre \u00e0 mon dictateur\u201d<\/em> (Slatkine, 2022). This meeting was part of the <strong>7th edition of the European High School Literary Prize<\/strong>, a project bringing together French high schools across Europe around the reading of contemporary works by living European authors.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"874\" data-end=\"1023\">Organized by Mmes Bourasseau and Presa from the Lyc\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ais de Vienne, the project invited students to explore four selected novels:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1233\">\n<li data-start=\"1024\" data-end=\"1078\">\n<p data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1078\"><em data-start=\"1026\" data-end=\"1050\">Lettre \u00e0 mon dictateur<\/em> by Eug\u00e8ne <em data-start=\"1061\" data-end=\"1076\">(Switzerland)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1131\">\n<p data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1131\"><em data-start=\"1081\" data-end=\"1101\">Les Huit Montagnes<\/em> by Paolo Cognetti <em data-start=\"1120\" data-end=\"1129\">(Italy)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1132\" data-end=\"1186\">\n<p data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1186\"><em data-start=\"1134\" data-end=\"1152\">Le Caf\u00e9 sans nom<\/em> by Robert Seethaler <em data-start=\"1173\" data-end=\"1184\">(Austria)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1187\" data-end=\"1233\">\n<p data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1233\"><em data-start=\"1189\" data-end=\"1202\">Soleil amer<\/em> by Lilia Hassaine <em data-start=\"1221\" data-end=\"1231\">(France)<\/em><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-bfe487c e-flex e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"bfe487c\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-18888f4 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"18888f4\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-start=\"1235\" data-end=\"1501\">These works offered a fascinating diversity of cultural and historical perspectives: Ceau\u015fescu\u2019s regime in Romania, the landscapes of Italy\u2019s Aosta Valley, the rebuilding of Vienna after 1945, and the Algerian immigration experience in France during the 1960s.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1503\" data-end=\"1879\">The online conference, hosted by the Lyc\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ais de Zurich, gathered five schools: Zurich, Vienna, Bucharest, Hamburg, and D\u00fcsseldorf. Eug\u00e8ne, also an actor, introduced his book in a highly original way \u2014 by performing its opening pages \u2014 before answering the students\u2019 questions. Representing LfiSV, Bogdan and Evgeny actively participated in the discussion.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-14531 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/lfisv.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/prix_lit_3-300x161.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"161\" srcset=\"https:\/\/lfisv.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/prix_lit_3-300x161.jpg 300w, https:\/\/lfisv.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/prix_lit_3-1024x548.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/lfisv.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/prix_lit_3-768x411.jpg 768w, https:\/\/lfisv.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/prix_lit_3-1536x822.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/lfisv.de\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/prix_lit_3.jpg 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">This encounter allowed students to gain a deeper<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"Standard\">understanding of the political background described in the book, particularly surrounding Ceau\u0219escu\u2019s regime, and to enrich their reading through direct dialogue with the author.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2183\" data-end=\"2640\">The final phase of the prize took place between late May and early June, with each school organising a vote to elect the students\u2019 favourite novel. At LfiSV, this vote followed several weeks of reading and class discussions.
