The beginnings<\/div>

Thanks to the initiative of a small group of parents, some fifteen children are starting their first year of school in a room located in the garden of the French Consulate. This marked the birth of the French school in D\u00fcsseldorf, which the following year became part of the Acad\u00e9mie de Strasbourg to guarantee teaching approved by the French Ministry of Education.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The French school moves into its own premises at 220 Graf-Recke-Strasse.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Fire<\/div>

The school is the victim of arson. The ravaged premises were demolished and reconstruction began very quickly. The city authorities are supporting the school with a considerable reduction in bureaucracy, and classes can resume in September at the Greek school's Hermannplatz facilities. At the end of April 1986, classes resumed in the new buildings.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

High school opening<\/div>

The school opens classes in seconde, premi\u00e8re and terminale and becomes a Lyc\u00e9e. To bring the school into line with this new offer, the Parents' Association and the school management, led by its first Headmaster, Mr. Portzer, decided to build a new building comprising 8 classrooms and a laboratory.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Kindergarten expansion<\/div>

Extension of the kindergarten and creation of 4 new classrooms served by a separate entrance hall, as well as maintenance and archive rooms in the basement.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

New building<\/div>

After a year's work, a new building was put into operation. It includes a canteen, eight classrooms, two practical rooms and four offices for administrative staff.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The ever-bigger high school<\/div>

Inauguration of a new 2-storey building with classrooms and language rooms dedicated to the elementary school - an elevator for disabled access on the ground floor, secondary school classrooms, school life offices and a vast CDI on the 1st floor, secondary school classrooms including an art\/music room, 2 fully-equipped laboratories, a preparation room, a teachers' lounge and a high school students' foyer on the 2nd floor.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

New sports facilities<\/div>

Inauguration of new sports facilities: 850m2 green multisport field area, athletics and table tennis playgrounds and a pyramid\/spider for the elementary school. The kindergarten playgrounds are also being renovated and upgraded with new paving, 50m2 of safe rubber surfacing, new play equipment, swings and a 4m x 8m sandbox.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

LfdD becomes LfiSV and celebrates 60 years of existence<\/div>

\n Lyc\u00e9e Fran\u00e7ais Simone Veil<\/strong>
\n<\/span>celebrated its 60th anniversary, making it an unforgettable day for students, parents, grandparents, teachers, management and staff.<\/div>\n
A beautiful tribute to Simone Veil had been prepared by the different classes in the form of a superb fresco unveiled to all at the time of the official ceremony.<\/div>\n
What's more, the new LfiSV has been awarded the German label
\n \"Schule ohne Rassismus - Schule mit Courage\" - label.<\/em>
\n<\/span> a network of some 3,800 schools with over 2 million pupils, and becomes the first school in the AEFE network to receive this label.<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n
